I still remember the days when I was working in construction, dreaming of one day becoming a software engineer. Back then, I used to read articles on TokyoDev to learn more about the industry and browse job postings, imagining what it would be like to become a software engineer someday.

Fast forward to today: I’m now a software engineer, and I’ve been featured in the very same place that once inspired me.

A huge thank you to Paul McMahon and Rebecca Callahan, and the TokyoDev team for including my story in this article. I hope it encourages others who are just starting their journey. Whatever path you take, whether it’s bootcamp, online degree, or self-study, stay persistent, keep learning, and keep building.

Good luck to everyone chasing this dream. Your journey is worth it.
